The Echo Gecko is a fly rod made for kids, with a modest, forgiving action and fun, kid-friendly looks. A small lower grip below the reel seat lets a young angler cast with one hand or two, and the camo-pattern foam grips are sized for small hands.

The 7'6" 4 wt is a full-featured fly rod for young anglers, with the modest, forgiving action Echo builds into every Gecko, and the small lower grip lets them put both hands on the rod when they cast.

Best for: young anglers fishing for bluegill and other panfish, first fly rod.

Line pairing: A 4 wt weight-forward floating line, the easiest line for a beginner to cast. We recommend the SA Amplitude Textured Double Taper (DT4F) or the SA Amplitude Smooth Creek Trout (WF4F).

Echo makes two Gecko rods. This 7'6" 4 wt Gecko Panfish has a red blank and suits bluegill and other panfish. What is the warranty?

The Gecko is covered by Echo's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the original owner, when the rod is bought from an authorized dealer. If the rod breaks in normal fishing use, Echo repairs or replaces it for a service fee that varies by model, and the fee is waived if the cause turns out to be a defect.
