The Echo Gecko Panfish Fly Fishing Outfit is a complete kids' setup built around the 7'6" 4 wt Gecko Panfish rod, a natural fit for bluegill and other panfish. Echo matches the rod with an Echo reel, backing, fly line and a leader, and ships the outfit strung up and primed for the water.

Like every Gecko, the Panfish rod has a modest, forgiving action and kid-friendly cosmetics, with a red-orange blank and camo-pattern foam grips. A small lower grip lets a young angler cast with one hand or two. The rod and reel go together in a zippered Echo rod and reel case.

Gecko Panfish Outfit vs Gecko Trout Outfit

Echo makes two Gecko outfits. This one uses the 7'6" 4 wt Panfish rod; the Echo Gecko Trout Outfit uses the 7'9" 5 wt Trout rod, for trout water and slightly bigger flies. The Panfish rod is also sold on its own as the Echo Gecko Panfish Fly Rod, if you already have a reel and line.

What is the warranty?

The rod is covered by Echo's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the original owner, when bought from an authorized dealer; breaks in normal fishing use are repaired or replaced for a service fee that varies by model, waived if the cause is a defect. The Echo reel carries Echo's one-year warranty for the original owner.
