Overview
The G. Loomis NRX+ Salt, which G. Loomis lists as the NRX+ S, is the saltwater side of the NRX+ family, handcrafted in Woodland, Washington. Conditions on the flats and inshore turn quickly, with wind building and cloud cover flattening the light, and this rod is built to keep up: power and line speed to drive through wind, stable loops, and enough feel to make a short shot count when a fish shows up close in poor light.
Every model is 9', 4-piece and fast action, from 7 to 12 wt, with a full wells AAA-grade cork grip and a fighting butt. The blank pairs Mega Modulus+ graphite with GL8 resin in a compound taper for crisp action and fast recovery, and the custom aluminum reel seat is a double uplocking design sized for large saltwater reels. We carry all six.

NRX+ Salt vs Other G. Loomis Fly Rods
The freshwater G. Loomis NRX+ shares the same Mega Modulus+ and GL8 blank technology but runs 4 to 8 wt in 9', 9'5" and 10' lengths, with walnut-insert seats on the lighter rods. The Salt version is 9' only, 7 to 12 wt, and every model has a full wells grip and fighting butt. The NRX+ LP is the family's light dry-fly rod.
The G. Loomis Asquith is the flagship series above NRX+, built on a Spiral X Core blank, and comes in saltwater weights as well as freshwater. For a lower price, the G. Loomis IMX-PRO V2S is the value saltwater series.
