Overview
The G. Loomis IMX-PRO V2 is the freshwater side of the IMX-PRO V2 family: everyday fast-action fly rods built with professional guides in mind. Launched in 2023, the 11 freshwater models run from 4 to 8 wt and mix general-purpose 9' rods with 10' technique rods for nymphing, stillwater and single-hand spey, plus two 8'10" streamer rods. Every rod is handcrafted in Woodland, Washington, and we carry all 11.
G. Loomis builds the blank with Conduit Core, a scrim material that replaces some of the graphite in the butt section to keep the strength while cutting weight and improving balance. The GL7 resin system adds impact resistance and sensitivity without extra weight, and Multi-Taper Design rounds out the platform. All models are 4-piece and fast action, with chrome single-foot snake guides, chrome stripping guides, premium cork grips and a custom aluminum reel seat. The 9' 4 wt and 5 wt (490-4 and 590-4) have a wood insert and no fighting butt; every other model has a fighting butt.

IMX-PRO V2 vs Other G. Loomis Rods
The G. Loomis IMX-PRO V2S is the saltwater sister line on the same blank technology: every model is 9', 6 to 12 wt, with a full wells grip, a fighting butt and Fuji K-frame stripping guides. The G. Loomis IMX-PRO Creek is a short 7'9" moderate-action rod for small streams.
The G. Loomis NRX+ and G. Loomis Asquith 2 sit above the IMX-PRO V2 as the top tier of the G. Loomis range. The IMX-PRO V2 is built in the same Woodland, Washington shop and costs less.

Which models have a fighting butt?
