Description
Overview
TR stands for Tim Rajeff, and the TR2 is his powerful two-hander. Echo built it with a beefy butt section for abrupt, bottom-hand power, and it handles everything from touch-and-go casts to Skagit casting, from floating lines to big sink tips. Echo's spec table rates it medium fast, and on Echo's action and power chart it is the second most powerful two-hand rod after the King.
It has a glossy green blank, black stripping and snake guides, cork grips with composite inserts and pressure points, and a black anodized reel seat. Every model is 4-piece and comes in a fabric-covered rod case with a sock. We carry all five sizes: an 11' 3 wt and 11'3" 4 wt for trout, and 12'6" 6 wt, 13' 7 wt and 13'6" 8 wt for steelhead and salmon.

TR2 vs Other Echo Two-Hand Rods
The Echo Swing Spey comes in the same 12'6", 13' and 13'6" spey sizes, but the TR2 has much more power and is rated for heavier heads (600 to 630 gr Skagit on the 8 wt against 540 to 570 gr). Only the Echo King has more power. For trout, the TR2 3 and 4 wt take heavier heads than the 11' Echo Trout Spey (300 to 330 gr Skagit on the TR2 3 wt against 240 to 270 gr on the Trout Spey 3 wt). For a short fast switch rod, see the Echo SR.
