The Echo Shadow II Competition Kit is an accessory kit, not a rod. It lets you tune the length and balance of a Shadow II Euro nymph rod: fit an extension when you want more reach, add the cork fighting butt, and add or remove counterweights until the rod balances with your reel.

It fits only the 10' 3 wt and the 10'6" 4 wt Echo Shadow II. The Shadow II 10' 2 wt is not compatible, and the rod itself is sold separately.

What Is in the Kit

• Two 6" extensions
• One removable cork fighting butt
• Five 10 gr counterweights

On the Shadow II 3 and 4 wt, the butt cap unscrews so you can add or take out weight, and the cork fighting butt gives you something to brace against your forearm while you hold the rod out on a long drift.

Which Rods Does It Fit?

Fits: Echo Shadow II ECHOSH2-3100 (10' 3 wt) and ECHOSH2-4106 (10'6" 4 wt).

Does not fit: Echo Shadow II ECHOSH2-2100 (10' 2 wt).

Is this a fly rod?

No. It is an add-on kit of extensions, a fighting butt and counterweights for a Shadow II rod you already own or buy separately.

Will it fit my Shadow II 2 wt?

No. Echo makes the kit for the 3 wt and 4 wt Shadow II models only; the 10' 2 wt is not compatible.

What does it do?

Echo says it adds customization options for length and balance. The 6" extensions add reach, the counterweights move the balance point back toward your hand, and the fighting butt gives a comfortable brace.

How many counterweights come in the kit?

Five, at 10 gr each.

Does it fit the Echo Shadow X?

Echo lists the kit for the Shadow II 3 and 4 wt only, so we cannot confirm a fit on other rods.
