Description

Overview

The Orvis PRO BOA is the PRO wading boot with a BOA dial in place of laces. Turn the dial to tighten and pull it to release. The cable spreads tension evenly over your foot, so the boot fits better and stays comfortable all day, and there are no wet, frozen laces to fight.

Its outsole was developed with Michelin specifically for fly fishing and grips wet rock very well, with set spots if you want to add studs. A light Clarino microfiber upper dries quickly, a molded OrthoLite insole and high-density phylon midsole add support, and scratch rubber protects the toe and heel.

Which wading boot is right for you? Felt soles grip best on slick, algae-covered rock, but some states and parks restrict felt, and it is slippery on mud, snow and trails. Rubber soles are legal everywhere, better for hiking in, and take studs for extra grip. For the best value, the Orvis Clearwater comes in rubber or felt. The Korkers Greenback includes both felt and rubber soles that swap in seconds. The Simms Freestone is a proven mid-price boot, the Orvis PRO BOA adds dial lacing and a Michelin sole, and the Simms G3 Guide is built for anglers who wade nearly every day. Try boots on over your wader booties, not bare socks.
