Overview

The Korkers Chrome Lite is a light BOA wading boot with a fixed rubber sole and built-in grip. Its Kling-On Rock outsole is flexible and grippy on wet and dry rock, and Xtra-Bite carbide cleats screw in for more bite. A BOA M4 dial with Sequence lacing gives quick on and off and an even fit, and a stretch cuff makes it comfortable and flexible.

Exo-Tec molding protects the boot from abrasion without adding weight: it is 8.5" tall and about 2.6 lbs a pair. Hydrophobic materials dry fast, and water drains out through the midsole. Men's whole sizes 8 to 15. Unlike most Korkers, the sole is fixed, not interchangeable.

Which wading boot is right for you? Felt soles grip best on slick, algae-covered rock, but some states and parks restrict felt, and it is slippery on mud, snow and trails. Rubber soles are legal everywhere, better for hiking in, and take studs for extra grip. For the best value, the Orvis Clearwater comes in rubber or felt.
