Overview
The Korkers Greenback gives you Korkers' swap-sole system at an easy price. It comes with both a felt sole and a Kling-On rubber sole. The OmniTrax system lets you change them in seconds, so you can use felt on slick freestone rivers and rubber where felt is not allowed or when you have a long walk in.
Hydrophobic materials dry faster, which helps keep invasive species from hitching a ride between rivers, and water drains out through channels and midsole ports so the boot does not stay heavy. Cemented construction and well-placed seams add durability, and traditional laces with web loops make it easy to snug up.
Which wading boot is right for you? Felt soles grip best on slick, algae-covered rock, but some states and parks restrict felt, and it is slippery on mud, snow and trails. Rubber soles are legal everywhere, better for hiking in, and take studs for extra grip. For the best value, the Orvis Clearwater comes in rubber or felt. The Korkers Greenback includes both felt and rubber soles that swap in seconds. The Simms Freestone is a proven mid-price boot, the Orvis PRO BOA adds dial lacing and a Michelin sole, and the Simms G3 Guide is built for anglers who wade nearly every day. Try boots on over your wader booties, not bare socks.
