Overview

The Hatch Iconic is the reel Hatch is known for: machined in Southern California, with the six-fin window pattern that started with the original Finatic. It runs a smooth sealed drag that is happy on a 9 ft 5 wt for trout and strong enough on the bigger sizes for bonefish, permit, steelhead and tarpon. The current version adds a deeper drag knob, a new H logo and a bright-dip finish that makes the machined edges shine while keeping strong anodized color.

Each Iconic comes with a reel pouch and an Iconic cap wrench. Spools are not compatible with earlier Hatch models.

Which size? The 3 Plus (3-5 wt) for light trout rods with room for backing, the 4 Plus (4-6 wt) for a 9 ft 5 wt, the 5 Plus (5-7 wt) for big trout, streamers and light steelhead, the 7 Plus (7-9 wt), Hatch's best seller, for bonefish, permit, steelhead and carp, the 9 Plus (9-11 wt) for stripers, redfish and big salmon, and the 11 Plus (11-12 wt) for tarpon and offshore.
