Overview

The Orvis Battenkill Disc gives you the classic Battenkill look with a real disc drag. It uses the stout Hydros SL drag, six interacting carbon and stainless steel surfaces, with a positive-click knob that is easy to set. That makes it a good match for trout rods that also see bigger fish, streamers or light saltwater.

Orvis tightened the tolerances for smoother operation, improved the feel of the drag knob, and added a curved reel foot that will not kink leaders. It is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a Delrin handle, has a ported mid-arbor, and switches easily between left- and right-hand retrieve.

Which size? Battenkill Disc II (3") for 3-5 wt rods, III (3.25") for 5-7 wt, and IV (3.6") for 7-9 wt.
