Overview

The Lamson Liquid S puts Lamson's sealed conical drag in an affordable cast reel. The conical drag is the same basic design Lamson uses in its machined reels: sealed, smooth from the first inch, and maintenance free. Pressure casting the frame and spool keeps the price down, and Lamson's pocket spar design keeps it strong and light.

The second-generation Liquid S has larger diameters and arbors than the original, a cleaner arbor shape for spooling, and a bigger, grippier drag knob. Its spools are interchangeable with the Lamson Remix S and Remix S HD, but not with first-generation Liquid or Remix reels.

Which size? The -3+ (4.2 oz) fits 2 to 4 wt rods, the -5+ (4.6 oz) 4 to 6 wt trout rods, the -7+ (5.2 oz) 6 to 8 wt, and the -9+ (6.7 oz, 250 yds of 30 lb backing) 8 to 10 wt for bass, steelhead and salt.
