Overview

The Dyna-King Professional is a top conventional vise, and its grip is the reason many pro tyers use it. Its jaws have serrated grooves that step from larger at the back to smaller at the tip, so they lock onto everything from the smallest trout hooks to heavy saltwater hooks. Four locking angle adjustments keep it rock steady, the head rotates 360° so you can see the far side of the fly, and it is machined from stainless steel and aluminum. It is not a true rotary vise.

This version comes on a pedestal base that sits on any table, so you do not need an edge to clamp to.

Which Dyna-King is right for you? The Kingfisher is the simple, compact starter vise. The Trekker is a lighter, lower-priced true rotary vise that holds the same hooks as the Barracuda.
