Overview

The AirLock Strike Indicator is the original screw-lock foam indicator. Lay the leader in the slot on the post, screw the cap down, and it locks in place with nothing to wrap, peg or knot. Back the cap off to change depth in seconds.

The current indicators are made from Air-Lock's eco foam, which they rate 30% lighter while suspending 25% more weight on the water. Lighter means easier casting, a softer landing and better strike detection, and the neutral-colored post is less visible to fish. If one ever floats away, the foam breaks down over time in mud, water or compost. It will not dissolve or soften in normal fishing use. Each pack holds three indicators in assorted high-visibility colors.

Which size should you choose?

1/2 in: small flies, light nymph and dry-dropper rigs, and calm or shallow water.

3/4 in: the all-round size for most trout nymphing.

1 in: heavy rigs, big beadheads and split shot, and fast or deep water.

Original AirLock or CenterLock?

The AirLock CenterLock Strike Indicator clamps the leader through its center instead of under a cap, which adds free-sliding and break-away rigging options and a Micro size for very light rigs.

FAQ

Does it kink the leader?
No. The cap clamps the leader in the post slot without bending it around anything.

Will the biodegradable foam fall apart while I fish?
No. It only breaks down when left in the elements for a long time.
