Overview

The AirLock CenterLock is a foam strike indicator built around two halves that screw together on the leader, so you can set depth, change it, and set it again without retying or kinking the line. Run the leader through the shallow screw channel and the indicator locks at a fixed depth. Use the deep channel and it slides freely between stops, or can be rigged to break away.

A patented O-ring insert and tapered clamping surfaces grip anything from fine tippet to a heavy butt section without crushing it, and razor-cut retention slits stop the line from twisting while you tighten. The textured outer shell makes it easy to tell which half to turn with cold or wet hands. Every CenterLock is made from biodegradable, eco-friendly foam, and each pack holds three indicators in assorted high-visibility colors.

Which CenterLock size should you choose?

Micro: the smallest CenterLock. Best for light nymph and dry-dropper rigs, shallow or clear water, and spooky fish where a soft landing matters.

1/2 in: the everyday trout nymphing size for one or two small to mid-size flies.

3/4 in: floats heavier rigs with bigger beadheads or split shot in deeper, faster water.

CenterLock or the original AirLock?

The original AirLock Strike Indicator locks the leader under a screw-down cap on a single post and comes in 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch. The CenterLock clamps the line through the middle instead, which adds the free-sliding and break-away options.
