Overview

The WD-40 Fly is a proven midge and mayfly emerger pattern trusted by anglers for decades in tough conditions. With its slim body, soft hackle, and realistic profile, this fly perfectly mimics emerging insects drifting in the film. Its sparse design allows it to ride naturally in the water column, making it irresistible to trout in clear, pressured waters. Whether fished on a dead drift, swung through riffles, or trailed behind a dry, the WD-40 has a knack for fooling selective fish. An excellent choice year-round, especially during midge and baetis hatches, this pattern has earned a permanent spot in fly boxes for its versatility and fish-catching consistency.
