Overview

The Redington Zero is the light, simple trout reel we sell more of than any other. It is die-cast, which lets Redington make a shape that would be too costly to machine and keeps the weight down, so it balances 2, 3, 4 and 5 wt rods without making them feel tip-light or butt-heavy. A spring-loaded clicker drag gives steady resistance and the sound of a running fish, and on small and medium trout that is all the drag you need.

The large arbor picks up line quickly and reduces coils, the spool changes fast, and it converts to left- or right-hand retrieve. A nylon reel case and Redington's lifetime warranty are included.

Which size? The 2/3 suits creek and small-stream rods. The 4/5 fits most 8' to 9' trout rods.

Need a real disc drag? For bigger fish, heavier tippet or saltwater, the Redington Behemoth adds a powerful carbon drag at a similar price, and the Redington Run is a lighter disc-drag trout reel.
